The small size of our helicopter allows the camera to shoot a given object up close and low as well as from a high-flying position. The helicopter can, under controlled conditions, even be flown inside of buildings. This ability to film ‘up close’ is not available using other airborne camera platforms. Filming using our system is an economical way of obtaining good quality aerial footage whether it is video or still images that you require.

It is possible to arrange this with some advanced notice. There are weight and size limitations that will be fully explained on application.

Yes, we are now able to offer digital still images shot using our Sony R1 10 megapixel still camera.

The short answer is no, the machine was originally bought as a camera platform. The reality is, it has been extensively modified and improved by FlightCam Malaysia to become the machine that we now operate.

The helicopter is slightly larger than a normal hobby type of machine at 1.6M (62”) in length (not including the main rotor blades) and is approximately 9KG in weight depending on the camera fitted.

We normally operate from ground level up to approximately 120M altitude. The distance away from the pilot varies somewhat due to the visibility of the day and the nature of the filming so we tend to use the term ‘line-of –sight’ to define this.
